Overview of Calibration Procedure [OP1000] Futek
for the Rotary Torque Sensor System:

  1. Entering the sensors settings into the display. Settings like capacity and its
    corresponding output at capacity.
  2. Installation of torque sensor into the calibration setup.
  3. Recording the zero and then beginning to load the system every in 20% of capacity
    increments (0, 20, 40, 60, 80, 100, then back to 0%) with known reference equipment.
    a. Outputs are recorded at each point.
    b. Adjustments to the display settings are made if required.
    c. If adjustments are made, the test is repeated until system is within specification.
  4. System calibration certificate is then created with the test results along with critical
    system settings.
The TRS605 has a response time of around 1 msec (1 KHz). The IBT100 is faster, so as a
system, it is around 1 msec.
The TRS605 has a nonlinearity of +/-0.2% of its capacity. With a 100 N-m capacity unit, that
translates to around +/-0.2 N-m across its full operating range which is 0-100 N-m in both
clockwise and counter clockwise directions.
